We recently (like a month ago) had family pictures taken. I just love the way they turned out!! If anyone in Northwest Arkansas needs to have pictures taken, look up Katie Brockmeyer Photography. She's so great!

Half of a year!? I start every blog post the same, but I am continually amazed at how fast time goes. A half of a year...6 months! With the development of each new stage, I tell myself, "No, this stage is my favorite." I think I just need to say she's my favorite. Which is also so true. She is such a fun baby. She crawls all over the place and she so badly wants to walk. She can sit up by herself, but if she has the choice, she will stand every time. Most of my afternoons are filled with me holding her hands as we walk around the house. She also eats like a champ. She loves those cereal puff things. She giggles all the time and has such a fun smile. We are lucky to have her in our lives. At her last doctor's appointment, she was 17.5 pounds (70th percentile) and 27 inches long (90th percentile). She's a big girl, and we love her! A Trip to DallasWe decided to spend a weekend with the Taylors in Dallas! We were a little worried about the drive because Mckee doesn't always do very well in the car for long periods of time. But she was a champ! We made it to Dallas without too much emotional scarring. We got in late, and the fun started the next morning. Early Saturday morning, Jake and I headed to the Dallas temple. We were lucky to have Ron and Lisa watch Mckynlee while we went. There was some outside force that really didn't want us to get there. On our way there, a torrential downpour started. The freeway was flooded and we could hardly see the other cars on the road. We were soaked just by running 10 feet from the car to the temple. But it was worth our time! The rest of the afternoon was spent with family. It was so fun! Mckynlee LOVES to watch Pepper. She's not so sure about being up close yet, but she does love looking through the windows at her. She is totally mobile. I almost can't keep up! The doctor said he wanted her to start trying every food, including dairy and peanut butter. So we gave her a little taste of ice cream. Maybe not the best dairy to introduce, but it was just a small taste. Every year, Jake's family makes a video of pictures from that year. It's really quite fun. We were catching up on some and Mckynlee was loving watching her cousins! We were having a hard time getting her to eat one night, until we let her hold the spoon. Then she couldn't get enough! What we are working on now is learning how to get food from the tray, into her mouth. She's actually doing pretty good! She loves eating the Puff pieces. Definitely her favorite thing right now. Mckee and I are signed up for "Mommy and me" swimming lessons at the Fitness Center. We had our first lesson just the other day. I taught swimming lessons for 13+ years, so I felt a little silly. But I have some fun friends in the class and it gives us an excuse to go swimming! We loved it. And Mckee does great going under the water. Playing at the ParkHer favorite thing to do is walk. I am fairly sure I'm going to turn into a hunchback pretty soon. All afternoon, we walk circles around the living room, we walk to the mailbox, we walk around the kitchen, etc. She just loves it. I was making dinner one night, and I put Mckee in the door jumper (the pink thing below.) She was getting really frustrated because she was trying to walk forward, but it was holding her back (because it isn't for walking, it's for jumping.) Finally, I took the jumper down, but kept her in it. We ended up walking around the house just like this! It was a win-win! I wasn't hunched over (yay!) and she felt like she was doing it all by herself! I wasn't doing anything more than simply holding her up. She picked the direction and the speed. It was so funny! Photography PracticeBefore Mckynlee was born, Jake and I invested in a nice DSLR camera. The problem is, we don't know how to use it unless it's in automatic. Jake found an online photography course and we've been working on developing some skills! Below are some of our practice photo shoots. Lucky for us, we have an adorable little model! They aren't perfect, but that's why we practice, right? Princess MckynleePhoto practice take 2! I had this dress for some reason and had forgotten about it! I think I was saving it for Halloween, but it might not fit come October. But I'm glad we at least got some cute pictures from it. I'm not usually an Elsa fan, but I'm a fan of this little Elsa. BYU Bound!First FridayFirst Friday is something I just love about Bentonville. The first Friday of each month, our community has a party or fair type thing. It's so fun. There are booths and local bands and food trucks, etc. It is a great way to enjoy beautiful weather. We also loved playing in the fountains. An of course, we had to go to the swings again. I think that might be our favorite spot...for Mckynlee and for me. :) Swimming...again.If you couldn't tell already, we love to spend time at the pool. It was a great way to start our Labor Day weekend. Getting a picture with one baby looking is hard, getting two babies looking at the camera seems almost impossible. But we had so much fun! It was a beautiful day to be outside, but it wasn't very hot. So the babies got cold pretty quickly (hence Mckee all bundled up in the towel). They sure do love the water though. So fun!
