This weekend we really had a party! It was just constant excitement and entertainment. :) On Saturday, it was Jake's 25 birthday. (yeah, he's getting old!) Followed by the 4th of July on Monday. Party! Party!
We started off the fun weekend at the pool with some friends. Mckynlee loves the water, so it was a great way to spend a very hot afternoon.
Mckynlee's love of toys has just skyrocketed recently. She really loves her princess book. She especially loves to eat it! I was laughing so hard as she really went to town on it. It's like she wanted to shove the whole thing in her mouth.
I've been feeling pretty creative recently. I was feeling especially daring when I made this dress. I don't mean to sound haughty, but I did this without a pattern! I totally free-stitched it. If that's even a word.
I'm working on building my own Etsy site. Hopefully it'll be up and running soon.
It's been so great. When Mckynlee wakes up in the morning, she doesn't wake up screaming. She will just lay in her crib and talk to herself. On Jake's birthday, she was in her crib for 30-40 minutes before she wanted to get out. She's so great.
She LOVES to talk these days. Especially when she's on camera. This little one loves attention!
Jake's Birthday
We wanted Jake to feel special and to know what a good dad he is, so the whole weekend was a party! Mckynlee was really interested in the colorful paper. It was so fun.
Throughout the day, Mckynlee and I would bring out presents for Jake to open. She was fascinated by the crinkle of the paper. So fun.
As part of our birthday festivities, we headed to Rogers for a swim. Mckynlee has always loved the water. This was her first time going under and I think she did great!
I am a big proponent of kids being in the water. I could rant on and on, but long story short, my kids will learn to love the water. It is so important. Anyway, I've been excited to have Mckee go under for the first time. Jake wanted to be there to see it, so this was the first time. Considering, she did a pretty good job. She was a little shocked, but overall didn't hate it. We'll keep working on it.
We ended the night with a family bike ride. It was such a good weekend!
Mckee just learned a new trick! She has been sucking on her lips ever since. I'm not really even sure how she does it.
4th of July
And the fun continues! We started our morning at a ward pancake breakfast. I just love the people in our ward. Such fun people. It actually started to rain while we were there! It cleared up though and we had a great day.
We headed to Bella Vista with some friends for a parade. It was unique to say the least. It was about 100 yards total and was very interesting. We certainly had a good time!

We ended the evening with a firework show in Bentonville. Mckynlee did surprisingly really well. She liked watching the pretty colors, but didn't love the loud boom. But once I had her ears covered, she did fine.
It was a great 1st 4th of the July!

The Fun Continues
We've been meaning to get to a Natural's game for a while, but just haven't been able to. Jake found out the Frisco Roughriders were coming (Texas Ranger's AA team) and he insisted we go. I'm so glad we did because it was a blast.
The Roughriders lost, but we had a great time!
