One year old! Can you believe my little baby is already one year old??? Wasn't I just posting about being in the final stages of pregnancy? Wasn't I just announcing that we were expecting? Now here we are, one year from when our beautiful little baby came into the world. She is such a joy. She has so much personality and brings us so much happiness. Words just can't describe.
Mckynlee's favorite thing right now is to tickle people. And well, everything. She'll tickle her food, her toys, her parents...herself! She just loves to laugh. She loves to play outside. She loves to play with balls and with dolls. She LOVES to eat. She loves peanut butter. She loves water (and will not juice. She does not like juice.) She loves to swim. She loves the bath. She loves her daddy and her mama. She loves talking to grandma and grandpa. She loves dogs. She really loves kitties (much to Jake's dismay). She loves to read and she loves looking at books. She loves snuggles. She loves saying "hi" to everyone. Seriously, everyone. Unless I ask her too, then she just stares. She loves to babble. She loves shoes. She loves giving high-fives. She loves Easter eggs. She loves chocolate. She loves pretty much anything sweet. She loves Moana and Finding Dory. She just loves so much! She doesn't like her carseat, still. And she doesn't like taking off her pajamas.
She is just so fun. I can't say that enough. We have our tough days. Trust me, with teething, we certainly have our tough days. But the tough days are far out-weighed by the good days and the happy moments. So, long story short, a very happy first birthday baby girl!

It also breaks my heart a little bit. She changes so little everyday that it's hard to remember. I sure do love this little girl. |

Cake Smash Photo shoot
On her birthday, we went to the Amazeum for the afternoon! It was so fun. Mcks loves it there. I have about 50 videos of funny things she did, but I really liked this one. She was determined to pick up this basket of apples that was obviously too heavy for her. The grunts she does...HILarious.
I feel like all of Mckynlee's gifts (yes, she was beyond spoiled) were perfect for her. She got a Little People Princess castle from Jake and I. We made the mistake of not building it before giving it to her. She could hardly contain her excitement as we built it. She was going crazy. She also got a shopping cart from my mom. She loves to push her baby doll around in it. She acts like she's so big. And finally, she got a little slide from her Aunt Emily, Uncle Jaren, and her cousins Austin and Caleb. She was so excited about the slide! I know, she was pretty much excited about everything. Funny enough, she, at first, didn't want to slide down it. She just wanted to climb up it! She'd climb up, then climb down. Since then, we've taught her how to slide down it. (She loves sliding down it too, and her toys love sliding down it too.) Funny girl.
The Birthday Party
Some would say we are ridiculous for celebrating a one year old's birthday. And maybe we are. But it was sure fun!
Feeling pretty proud of my decorating skills. Not perfect, but I thought they looked pretty good. What you can't see in the picture is the pink sprinkles that look like sparkles. I just can't get enough of the sparkles. I love having a little girl.
All day, she would just point to the cake. It was hard to get her to eat anything with the cupcakes on the table.Whenever I asked her if she wants cake, she just goes, "Mmmmm". I take it to mean yes, she wants cake. (Her taste buds totally make her Jake's daughter.)
