She loves her dad. Some nights, I just can't seem to calm her down. Jake enters the picture, and she is so happy! The other day, I was talking to Jake on the phone (on speaker) and she was looking around the room trying to find him. (Or that's what it looked like.) She at least knows who he is and just adores him!
She also loves bath time. So cute. Bath time might also be my favorite time. She just looks so happy and relaxed. Do I have a little fish!? Maybe!
She does NOT like her car seat. At all. If the car is moving, I guess it's fine. But once we stop, we know it because she starts screaming.
She also doesn't like being swaddled. Well, that's a double edged sword. She does like being swaddled, but she has to have her hands up by her face.
For the next few weeks, the pediatrician said she'll be holding her head up more, smiling, and making better eye contact. We're certainly excited!
What's the verdict? I can see a little bit of both. We'll see! I'm excited to see how she grows up. She certainly can't go wrong by looking like her daddy...what a handsome guy!
When Mckynlee was 2 weeks old, my good friend Cindy took more pictures. I'm so lucky to have such a talented photographer as my friend! She did such a great job. I'm pretty much obsessed with the pictures.
It is so easy to feel worthless, to feel I'm not good enough, to feel like I'm not progressing. As Easter time came and passed, I really started thinking about the atonement and what that meant to me. Jesus Christ suffered the greatest pains, something we will never understand. Through His entire life, He was in the presence of the Father. When He went to Gethsemane and as He hung on the cross, He was completely alone. To fully atone for our sins, the Father had to withdraw His presence. And that is the greatest pain of all. He had to suffer the literal weight of the world without ANY help.
Why do I bring this up? It is because He walked alone that we do not have to. No matter what trial we face, we do not have to walk this life alone. And that is the greatest gift of all. It is because of Him that my little family will be together forever. I cannot express my joy. Life is hard, but it is also worth it.
If you need a pick me up -- please take the time to read this. It is truly wonderful.
